Baha Men
Bahamian junkanoo legends best known for the Grammy-winning 'Who Let the Dogs Out.' Active since 1977, they blend Caribbean rhythms, dance, and hip-hop into irresistible, crowd-igniting party music.
Formed in New Providence, Bahamas in 1977 under the name High Voltage, the group originally played disco and funk in local nightclubs and hotels before shifting to junkanoo — the vibrant, percussive street-parade music of the Bahamas. They renamed themselves Baha Men in the early 1990s after signing with Atlantic Records and released their debut album Junkanoo in 1992. Their 2000 remake of 'Who Let the Dogs Out' became a global phenomenon, earning a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording and Billboard Music Awards, while permeating stadiums and film soundtracks worldwide. Their sound fuses junkanoo with pop, reggae, and hip-hop. Current members include lead vocalists Rik Carey and Dyson Knight and bassist/bandleader Isaiah Taylor. In 2025 they released 'Smile,' blending Afrobeats with junkanoo rhythms, proving their creative engine is still running.
