Crooked Coast
Cape Cod's Crooked Coast mashes punk, rock, reggae, hip-hop, and pop into a sound that's equal parts summer bonfire and dead-of-winter grit. The quartet earned a 2025 New England Music Awards Artist of the Year nod and headlines their own Coast-Fest in Falmouth.
Formed on Cape Cod, Crooked Coast—Luke Vose (vocals/guitar), John McNamara (guitar/vocals), Ben Elder (bass/vocals), and Shaqed Druyan (drums)—built their chops playing dive bars and tourist traps before breaking regional and national ground. Their genre-blending approach draws on punk energy, reggae rhythms, hip-hop grooves, and rock hooks, earning praise from Dig Boston and Cape Cod Times. The 2020 single "Rise & Shine" cracked the Top 5 of the iTunes Reggae Songs Chart, and their 2022 album Picture This—mixed by Courtney Ballard (5 Seconds of Summer, Good Charlotte)—racked up over half a million streams. Festival spots at Boston Calling, Beach Road Weekend, and Reggae Rise Up followed. Since 2019, they've produced and headlined Coast-Fest at the Falmouth bandshell. Their 2025 album Nothing Before & Nothing After continues the run, capped by a New England Music Awards Artist of the Year win.
