Robbie Pate & Cape Cod Jazz Trio
A Berklee- and NEC-trained vocalist-pianist who's shared stages from Fenway Park to Tokyo jazz clubs, Robbie Pate teams up with the Cape's own powerhouse rhythm section — Fred Boyle, Ron Ormsby, and Bart Weisman — for an evening at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.
Robbie Pate grew up in Baltimore, where he first sang in church before studying voice at the Baltimore School for the Arts. He went on to earn degrees from Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, and today teaches at both Berklee and the Longy School of Music. His résumé spans continents — international tours with the Alexey Podymkin Quartet in Russia and the Yuki Futami Trio in Japan — and arenas, including the stage at Fenway Park with the Zac Brown Band. Closer to home, he holds a performing residency at Tin Pan Alley in Provincetown and moves fluidly across jazz, soul, pop, and R&B. Joining him at the Cultural Center is the Cape Cod Jazz Trio: pianist Fred Boyle, bassist Ron Ormsby, and drummer Bart Weisman, the trio behind Cape Cod's only year-round Jazz Jam and fixtures of the region's live jazz scene since 2006.
