Bart Weisman
Bart Weisman is the drummer and bandleader who built Cape Cod's jazz scene from the ground up — founding the Provincetown Jazz Festival and running the Cape's only year-round jazz jam. Catch his Jazz Group live at The Vine in Falmouth.
A drummer, bandleader, and tireless jazz advocate, Bart Weisman relocated to Cape Cod from Washington, D.C., where he had served with the United States Air Force Band. Since planting roots on the Cape, he has become one of its most prominent jazz figures — founding and producing the annual Provincetown Jazz Festival and hosting the long-running Jazz Jam Cape Cod, active since 2006. Weisman leads multiple ensembles including the Bart Weisman Jazz Group, Smooth Jazz Group, Klezmer Swing Group, and the Cape Cod Jazz Quartet and Trio, performing across the region at concerts, restaurants, and events. He has shared stages with the likes of Jay Geils, Molly Ringwald, and Ken Peplowski, opened for the Boston Pops, and appeared with the Cape Symphony. He also teaches as Jazz Band Director at Sturgis East and through the Jazz in the Schools program.
