Marion, MA-bred singer-guitarist Adam Lufkin blends funk, reggae, and rock with a hip-hop edge under his stage name Luffkid. Whether solo or fronting a full band, his technically sharp guitar work and loose, groove-heavy sets make him a natural fit for Cape Cod's bar and beach-venue circuit.
Adam Lufkin grew up in Marion, Massachusetts — Old Rochester Regional High School and Tabor Academy — before studying jazz performance at the University of Denver. Back on the East Coast circuit he built his Luffkid identity: a singer, guitarist, and MC who mixes funk, reggae, acoustic, and rock with what one Key West venue called an almost "Hip-Hoppish" approach to familiar songs. He also fronts Luffkid and the Smoove M**********s, a rotating ensemble that amps up the groove. Now based in Key West, he stays active on the New England circuit and has appeared on Bandsintown listings for Hyannis — bringing a Florida-seasoned, South Coast-rooted sound back to the shores that shaped him.
