Led by founder and first violinist Dan Flonta, this Cape Cod-based string quartet brings polished chamber music to audiences across the peninsula and beyond. Their annual concert series — from classical programs to globe-trotting holiday spectaculars — draws sell-out crowds wherever they play.
Founded and directed by violinist Dan Flonta, the Cape Cod String Quartet is a professional chamber music ensemble rooted in West Barnstable. The core lineup pairs Flonta with violinist Meghan O'Connor, violist Sofia Nikas, and cellist Nancy Torrente — all career musicians holding advanced degrees from conservatories and universities across the world. Flonta himself earned his Master of Music in Violin Performance from Bowling Green State University and his Bachelor of Music from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Romania, and he also performs regularly with the Plymouth Philharmonic and Falmouth Chamber Players. The quartet runs an active concert season through the Cape Cod Music Society, presenting named series including "Spring Is Here," "A Night at the Movies," "Autumn on the Cape," and "Christmas Around the World," at venues ranging from the Cape Cod Museum of Art and Wellfleet Preservation Hall to Chatham-area churches and landmark resort stages. Their concerts frequently sell out.
