Harwich resident Digney Fignus blends blues, folk, Cajun, and old-time music with a rock-and-roll heart — a Cape Cod fixture who once won MTV's Basement Tapes and landed on Columbia Records. Catch him solo, trio, or full band across the Cape.
Born in Cambridge and raised in Lexington, Digney Fignus (the alias of Bob Brown) cut his teeth in Boston's late-1970s art-rock scene as a founding member of The Spikes. He formed his own group in 1983, scoring a national hit when "The Girl with the Curious Hand" won MTV's Basement Tapes competition, leading to a Columbia Records deal. Now a full-time Cape Cod resident living in Harwich, Fignus has evolved into a roots Americana singer-songwriter whose last three CDs charted in the Top 40 Americana and Roots Radio charts. His latest album, "Last Planet on the Left," hit #6 on the International Roots/Rock Chart. He also hosts the radio show "La Vida Local" on WOMR and performs regularly at Cape venues from Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown to the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis.
