The Barmaids
The Barmaids are Provincetown's Thursday-night institution — a four-piece led by multi-instrumentalist Damon Gorham mixing 70s covers with original songs at the Old Colony Tap. Expect drop-in guests, high energy, and the loosest-best bar scene on the Outer Cape.
Built around Provincetown busker and bandleader Damon Gorham — guitar, flute, and vocals — The Barmaids round out their four-piece lineup with Ian Leahy on guitar and vocals, Matt Berry on keyboard, mandolin, and vocals, and Kevin Hardy on bass. The band has become a fixture in Provincetown, holding down a regular Thursday-night residency at the Old Colony Tap and Monday slots at Bubala's by the Bay, blending 1970s jams with Gorham's own originals, including "Leave The City Behind." Their sets have a reputation for attracting serious drop-in talent — past guests have included Jerome Deupree of Morphine on drums and Ken Field of Revolutionary Funk on horns. The band has also performed at the Outer Cape Music Festival.
