New Orleans street band born in 2009, Tuba Skinny digs deep into pre-phonograph jazz, Depression-era blues, ragtime, and spirituals — music most bands treat as museum pieces. They built a global following on fan-shot YouTube videos without a label, a radio push, or an official channel. Twelve albums in, they still sound like the street.
