Nonprofit community theater in Barnstable Village staging classic plays, musicals, and comedies each fall, winter, and spring season.
The Barnstable Comedy Club is a nonprofit, all-volunteer community theater located at the Village Hall on Main Street in Barnstable Village. Established in 1922, it is the oldest continually operating community theater on Cape Cod. The theater mounts a season of fall, winter, and spring productions, with an emphasis on classic theater ranging from dramatic works to musicals and comedies.
Productions are staged on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM. Tickets are general admission, with senior pricing available. Season subscriptions are offered at the Patron and Patron Benefactor levels. Open auditions are held for each production and are open to the wider community.
Volunteers are welcome in a variety of roles, including box office, hospitality, and production support — set construction, costumes, props, lighting, and sound. The BCC also hosts community events at the Village Hall, and has presented outside programming such as chamber music performances. Director applications are accepted on a rolling basis each season.
