At the very tip of Cape Cod, where the land finally surrenders to the Atlantic, Race Point Beach delivers one of the most dramatic coastal experiences in New England. Part of the Cape Cod National Seashore and managed by the National Park Service, this wide, wild stretch of sand feels genuinely untamed — backed by rolling dunes, buffeted by ocean winds, and populated more by seabirds and seals than umbrella-toting tourists. The water here meets from two directions as the Gulf Stream and the Labrador Current collide offshore, giving the beach its name and its reputation for powerful surf and ever-shifting sandbars.
