Candle pin bowling + house-smoked BBQ + full bar in Orleans. Family-friendly, lane-side dining, private party options.
Candle pin bowling and house-smoked barbecue under one roof — that's The Alley's straightforward pitch, and it's a genuinely rare combination on Cape Cod. Orleans native David Currier grew up in this building (his family has owned it since the 1970s) and completely renovated it before reopening in 2014 with a 200-lb. wood smoker and 12 candle pin lanes. The result is a casual, all-ages spot that works equally well as a rainy-day plan with kids or a laid-back evening out.
The BBQ menu is made from scratch: house-smoked ribs, brisket, chicken, and pork, dozens of wing flavors, four house-crafted sauces, handmade veggie burgers, cornbread, and homemade desserts — plus kids' menu and gluten-free options. The full bar pours 16 beers on tap, New England craft brews, and a dedicated bourbon menu. You can eat lane-side while you bowl, or settle into the bar, high tops, separate dining room, or the seasonal enclosed patio with an outdoor fireplace.
The Alley also handles private events well — birthday parties, corporate team-building, fundraisers — with options ranging from casual lane bookings to full venue rental with big-screen video, music, and lighting.
